At Alamo Discount Water Systems, we are pleased to offer the following products to our customers.  We’ve been installing water systems for more than 30 years, and recommend the following solutions to your water problems for the best quality at a reasonable cost.

Do you know the benefits of soft water?
Water is considered the universal solvent. As it passes from liquid to vapor and back again, it tends to dissolve everything it touches – which can have a negative impact on you, your household and your pocketbook.  Depending on where you live, minerals from the ground, contaminants from sewage, industrial waste and agricultural run-off can seep into your water supply.

If there are stains or buildup on your sinks and bathtubs...if you have to use large amounts of soap to clean dishes or wash your hair...or if your water tastes or smells odd, you probably have hard water. If left untreated, the minerals in hard water will cause yellow stains on plumbing fixtures and be deposited as scale, eventually clogging plumbing and shortening the life of appliances like washing machines, water heaters and dishwashers. Scale deposits not only cut down on the efficiency of these appliances, they cost you money, increasing both energy and maintenance bills.

Soft water makes a difference you can see and feel, all over the house.  Soap and shampoo will lather better. Hair and skin will feel noticeably cleaner, softer and not as dry.  No soap scum or mineral deposits to clean off sinks, showers, tubs or toilets.  Clothes will be softer, cleaner, whiter and brighter. Using soft water increases the life of clothing, towels and linens up to 33%. Without hard water service issues, washing machines last longer, too. Dishes will clean more easily, and be spot free, without the film glasses get  when  etched  by  mineral-laden water. Water-using appliances will last longer and run better. Why? Because hot water heaters, washing machines and dish-washers using hard water can wear out 30% faster.

At Alamo Discount Water Systems, we offer water softeners by Clack and Fleck.  Please refer to the .pdf files in the resources section for brochures and technical specifications.

Do you have calcium scale?
Calcium scale is a hard, thick coating of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) that forms on heating elements, in pipes, plumbing fixtures, water using appliances and
R/O systems. As calcium rich water enters the home, the carbonic acid/calcium equilibrium is interrupted within the pipes, plumbing fixtures, water heaters, appliances or water using devices. Because the Hydrogen Carbonate (Ca(HCO3)2) is a weak chemical compound,  increases in temperature or water movement will cause the compound to breakdown, causing parts of the Calcium (Ca2), Magnesium (Mg2) and Bicarbonate (HCO3) to attach to the surfaces of heating elements, the inside of pipes, water heaters, plumbing fixtures and water using devices. Over time the scale coating continually thickens and is very difficult and costly to remove.

The technologically advanced Scale Prep Sp3 Media is an innovative solution that prevents all of the negative effects of calcium and magnesium, while allowing the positive health benefits to remain.

At Alamo Discount Water Systems, we offer scale prep systems in addition to water softeners by Clack and Fleck.  Please refer to the .pdf files in the resources section for brochures and technical specifications.

Do you have sulfur, iron or cloudy water?
If your water has the odor of rotten eggs, if there are iron stains on your sinks and bathtubs...if you use large amounts of soap to clean dishes, wash your hair or suffer the “orange hair” effect sometimes caused by iron water, you probably have water that can be successfully treated with an Ironbreaker III iron and sulfur removal system.  If left untreated, the minerals will cause yellow/brown stains on fixtures and clothing, clogged pipes and appliances, shortened service lives for dishwashers, washing machines and water heaters, all adding to the cost of maintaining appliances while increasing the amount of energy consumed in your home.

Until recently, the most common solution for problem iron and sulfur water involved the use of harsh chemicals and complicated equipment, requiring regular care and service by the homeowner or water treatment professional.  Alamo Discount Water Systems now offers the Ironbreaker III by Charger, a “natural” solution for removing iron and sulfur and leaving you with fresh, clean, odor free water throughout your home.

Have you considered a reverse osmosis drinking water system?
Reverse Osmosis is the natural process that sets the foundation of R.O. systems. It may sound technical, but osmosis is a natural, organic phenomenon, a process that occurs in nature on a continuous basis. Vegetation, like trees, plants and flowers attain their nutrients by using osmosis to draw water from the soil.

Alamo Discount Water Systems offers reverse osmosis drinking water systems that deliver delicious, sparkling clear drinking water at your faucet.
